Barbara Hill Obituary

Barbara Lowery Hill, age 82, of the Lebanon community, passed away peacefully at her daughter's residence on Friday afternoon, January 16, 2026. Born on May 19, 1943, in Elloree, South Carolina, she was the beloved daughter of Roachel Lowery and Maggie Barber Lowery.

Mrs. Hill was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Elloree and also attended Lebanon Methodist Church. She graduated from Elloree High School and continued her education at Palmer College, earning certification in court stenography.

Barbara was well known for her passion for cooking. She was the former owner and operator of Barbara's Country Kitchen, where her famous pork chops and coleslaw were local favorites. She also ran Barbara's Country Store, serving her community with warmth and hospitality.

In her free time, Barbara enjoyed fishing on the lake, playing piano at her church, and shag dancing. She was cherished for her spirited personality and her deep love for her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Ginger Hill Grooms of Lebanon; her grandchildren, E.J. Myzell (Brittany), Josh Myzell (Skylar), and Autumn Grooms (Michael), all of Lebanon; her five great-grandchildren, Clayton, Emma, Elie, Asher, Kaycen, and a granddaughter, Baby Skerritt, due to arrive in May. She is also survived by two special nephews, Patrick Hill (Jennifer) and Lamar Hill, both of Lebanon.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest David Hill; her parents; her son, Robbie Hill; her sister, Reta Barbie; and her brother, Bruce Lowery.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, in the Chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. Interment will follow in Rudd Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday evening, January 19, 2026, at the funeral home.
