Barbara Carpenter Goose Creek - Barbara J Carpenter of Goose Creek, SC, entered into eternal rest on Aug. 29, 2021. Born September 29, 1936, in Walterboro, SC, she was daughter of Ruby Carter Kirkley and Robert Kirkley. As the dedicated wife of 52 years of the late GySgt. James R. Carpenter, Sr., United States Marines, Retired, Barbara created a wonderful, loving home for their children: James R. Carpenter, Jr. and wife, Kim, of Columbia, SC, Donna Deal of Lickenville, PA, Cheryl Carpenter (deceased), and Terri Hammond and husband, Keith, of Summerville, SC; 6 grandchildren, Trish Poston and husband, Nate, with great-granddaughter, Marley, Melanie Price and husband, Todd, with great-grandson, Joshua Dupre, and Jeremy Carpenter, all in Columbia, SC, Garrett Deal and children in CO, Gregory Deal and children in PA and Jason Deal (deceased) of PA. Barbara cherished her family and gatherings. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Carolina Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremation, located at 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406, 843-797-2222. Barbara's funeral service will follow immediately in the chapel at 11am. Entombment will be at Carolina Memorial Park.
