Friends may call at the residence of his mother, Mrs. Annette Jackson Sheppard, 2614 Bonds Avenue, North Charleston, S.C. Arthur "Man" Benjamin Sheppard, II, was born October 4, 1973, in Washington, DC, to Mr. Arthur B. Sheppard, Sr. and Ms. Annette Jackson Sheppard. Mr. Arthur B. Sheppard, II entered into eternal rest on November 24, 2007. Arthur was a well loved and respected son, husband, and father. He was a member of Saint Peter's African Methodist Episcopal Church, North Charleston, SC. He attended services at New Mount Zion Baptist Church with his family. God gave Mr. Sheppard the gifts of organization, motivation and determination. He applied these gifts by building solid family relationships, building church relationships and sharpening his technical engineering skills. He was a member of Prince Hall Edisto Lodge #39 P.H.A. Masons. Arthur was a graduate of Gordon H. Garrett High School and South Carolina State University (SCSU) where he earned a Bachelor's of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering in 1997. In 2006, he earned his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree, with a concentration in Technology, from University of Phoenix. Mr. Sheppard was employed as a defense contractor at Fort Gordon, Georgia. He achieved the position of Principal Electrical Engineer where the U.S. Government entrusted Mr. Sheppard to design, integrate, implement and manage multiple classified telecommunication networks. These classified networks provide high speed transmission of voice, data, imagery and video to execute experiments and validate new technologies. The validation of innovative telecommunication technologies is the backbone of survivability for our soldiers on the battlefields of Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere. As a Principal Electrical Engineer, Mr. Sheppard's superior technical skills were recognized throughout the U.S. Army. During his 10 years of working at Fort Gordon, Georgia, Mr. Sheppard received several commendations and awards from Senior Military Officers as well as corporations in the telecommunications industry. Arthur leaves to cherish his memory: a beloved wife Vikki Glover Sheppard; two sons, Jackson Arthur (15 months) and James Joshua (three months); and one daughter Tyesn (ten years old); parents, Mr. Arthur B. Sheppard, Sr. (Silvia), and Ms. Annette Jackson Sheppard; three sisters, Inger Sheppard, Hollie Sheppard and Crystal Sheppard; one brother Larry Sheppard; a grandmother, Mrs. Naomi Sheppard; aunts, Mrs. Yvette Bellinger (Charles), Mrs. Odessa Lynn Grant (Herbert), Ms. Vivian Pettigrew, Mrs. Debra Ross (James), Ms. Phyllis Sheppard and Ms. Chanda Sheppard, Ms. Olivia Glover, Mrs. Priscilla Robinson (Christopher); uncles, Rev. Samuel Glover (Saundra), Mr. Isaiah Jackson (Sabrina), Rev. Edward McDowell, Jr. (Jeannie) and Mr. Stonewall Jackson; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Kenneth Glover (Pandora) and Mr. Keith Glover (Karen). Mann was a very special friend to us. He was a college roommate of mines and he truly will be missed. We all watched each other grow up from immature young men to mature, loving family men. I appreciated the fact that he made time to fly out to each Air Force base I was stationed at over the years just to hang out. He will always have a special place in our hearts.

Vicki keep your head up we are always here for you and the boys. We will contribute as much as we can in helping you with the boys because we know Mann would have done the same for us.

We will keep the whole family in our prayers during these trying times. Much love........

To the Sheppard Family:
It was with great sadness that I received the news of Arthur’s passing. Even though I only experienced a working relationship with Arthur, I still share in the grief of losing such a great person, but am encouraged know he’s resides in the arms of the One who knows him best. I only had one opportunity so shake his hand while on a visit to Fort Gordon. Our relationship was usually shared via the computer network we both worked on. I want to extend my sincere heart felt sympathy to you, and please know the prayers of myself; my family and my church are with you.

It has been five days since I've seen my friend buried. I am having a hard time excepting that "MAN" is gone. I loved him so much, he was truly a gentle soul, a true friend and someone positive to look up too. If I would have known our last encounter would have been this past May, I would have hugged him tighter and held on longer. I think of the good days spent at Ms. Annettes' house, Lynnes' house. The last words of encouragement that he spoke to me. God took his son home. To know "MAN" was to love him. I have never encountered such an unselfish, caring person as he in my entire life. "MAN" will never be forgotten. I am so sorry for your loss Ms. Annette, Tracy, Holly, Larry and Crystal. There are no true words for your GREAT loss. My heart and prayers go out to you in your time of greif.

To the Sheppard Family...

I met Man in Fall of 1990. He was the President of the Omegas at Garrett HS. I was an Omega Sweetheart, so he was one of my brothers. I heard of this most unfortunate incident when I returned from my Thanksgiving Break in Charleston, SC. Man was a true friend and always displayed true leadership. I have truly lost a great brother. May God be with you all during this sorrowful time.

To The family: I meet Mann two weeks ago while tailgating in Charleston. He attended SCSU w/ my sister. I’m glad she was able to share a few more laughs with her college mate. In the brief moment we meet, I couldn’t not imagine that it would also be our last. He left a lasting impression. A kind soul. He seemed like a really great friend to have & someone to know. I’m so sorry for your loss. May the joys in your memories of him give you strength.
God Bless.

To our friend Man - We will always and forever cherrish the times we spent together over these years. Wow! It's hard to believe that we've really been friends for close to 20 years! Don't worry, Little Man (Melvin) knows that you will still be looking out for him. April and I will always love you. Every now and then, I'll hear your voice saying "Do that dance, Tony. You know, the funny one!" And, know matter where I am, or who I'm around, I will dance. And, I'll hear your laugh and see your smile. We love you, Man!

PAULETTE FEASTER and family

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
