Ann Dover Obituary

Ann Pearson Dover CHAPEL HILL, NC - Ann Pearson Dover of Chapel Hill, NC, died Monday, December 6, 2010. Mrs. Dover was born on July 2, 1926 in Bristol, PA. After graduating from St. Mary's Girl's School, Burlington, New Jersey in 1944 Mrs. Dover attended and graduated with a degree in Home Economics from Penn State University in 1948. After graduating she moved to Shelby, NC, where she met her husband, John Randolph Dover III. They married on December 31, 1949. During their time together they lived in Shelby, NC, Chapel Hill, NC, Orange, CA and Kiawah Island, SC. Mrs. Dover is survived by her loving husband of 60 years John Randolph Dover III, brother William H. Pearson Jr., daughter Leslie Dover Brown and husband John Brown, her son, John Randolph Dover IV and wife Kim Dover, daughter Allison Norton and husband Jerry Norton, and grandchildren John Paul Norton, Michael Norton, Katherine Dover, and Sara Dover. Ann worked in the Travel Industry as a Travel Agent for many years. Her position as a Travel Agent afforded her the opportunity to experience great destinations around the World. Her other passion was helping others, one person at a time. Her friends shared with us that even over the past several years she kept the roads hot in her motorized scooter delivering this and that to people she met while in The Cedars Retirement Community in Chapel Hill. A Memorial Service will be held at The Cedars in Chapel Hill later in December. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
