Alma Missel Obituary

MISSEL, Alma Entered into eternal rest on the morning of September 16, 2005, Alma Elizabeth Nolte Missel, widow of Frederick G. Fritz Missel, Sr. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services Monday, September 19, 2005, at eleven o'clock in St. Johannes Lutheran Church. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL Sunday between five and seven o'clock. Mrs. Missel was born March 28, 1920, in Charleston, SC, the daughter of J.F.H. Chris Nolte and Dorothea Anna Lambach Nolte. She was a graduate of Memminger High School and Rice Business College. She was a member of St. Johannes Lutheran Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of Charleston Rifle Club and the Charleston Women's Bowling Association. She is survived by three daughters: Brenda M. Stevens and her husband William, of Charleston, SC; Marcia M. Moye and her husband Rev. Matthew, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and Debra M. Simmons and her husband Arthur, of Walterboro, SC; one son: Frederick G. Missel, Jr. and his wife Kerry, of Charleston, SC; one sister: Betty N. Carpenter of Charleston, SC; five grandchildren: Matthew O. Moye, III, English Elizabeth Moye Black, Arthur L. Simmons, III, Carly Blain Simmons Mros, Charleston R. Missel and two great grandchildren, Jacob Simmons and Mackie Black. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, two brothers: J.F.H. Chris Nolte, Jr. and Harold William Nolte; three sisters: Louise Nolte McAlister, Dorothea Nolte Sires and Wilhelmina Nolte Miller. Memorials may be made to St. Johannes Lutheran Church, 48 Hasell Street, Charleston, SC 29401, All Saints Lutheran Church, 1901 North Hwy. 17, Mt. We are all saddened that Alma is no longer here, and will dearly miss her. There are so many fond memories of all the family gatherings thru the years, it is a blessing knowing Alma was surrounded by so many caring and loving family and friends. Being around Alma was always a spark of welcome and a smile. God bless you all.

Fritz, So sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. She was a wonderful Lady. I have many fond memories of Her and your Dad. I know She will be greatly missed. Sorry that Sharon and I could not attend Her services, but our thoughts and prayers are with You, Kerri, Charleston and the rest of your family at this sad time.
