Alice Laverne Shacklette Bryan Charleston - Alice Laverne Shacklette Bryan, 92, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Ernest "Bob" Bryan, Jr., entered into eternal rest Monday, October 25, 2021. Her funeral service will be held at the graveside Friday, October 29, 2021, in Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, at 10:00 am. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel. Alice was born October 20, 1929, in Louisville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Jacob Reeson Shacklette and the late Ida Burr Shacklette. Alice was an elementary school teacher and worked in childcare after retiring from Cummins. She was an avid tennis player, loved going to the beach, and reading. She is survived by her two granddaughters, Tracy Tittle Jones (Brad) and Crystal Simons Elliott (Kelly); grandson, Billy Simons (Ana); six great-grandchildren, Brantley Jones, Clark Jones, Marilyn Elliott, Elise Elliott, Tena Simons, and Daria Simons; two son-in-laws, Lewis Tittle, Jr. and Billy Simons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest "Bob" Bryan, Jr.; daughters, Diane Brantley Tittle and Tena Brantley Simons; siblings, Jacob Lee Shacklette, John Shacklette, and Norma Shacklette William; and her special companion, Fred Inello.
