Albert Tamms
Albert P. "Al" Tamms, 90, of Collinsville, Ill., born Feb. 13, 1918, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Thursday, March 6, 2008, at University Nursing and Rehab, Edwardsville, Ill.
Al retired from Swift and Co., after 38 years of service. He enjoyed square dancing with many clubs for over 40 years. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Collinsville, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Tamms; two sisters, Martha Tamms and Edyth Davis; and a brother, Lee Tamms.
Surviving are his wife, Mary, nee Hellen, Tamms of Collinsville, Ill., whom he married on Dec. 31, 1941; a daughter, Christie (Ron) Young of Marine, Ill.; two grandsons, Christian (Andria) Powell and Donne (Aracelis) Schlessinger; and three great-grandchildren, Miriam, Atticus and Elijah.
Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2008, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill., with Rev. Michael Walther officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
