Gevert Hollings III CHARLESTON - A. Gevert Hollings III entered into his final resting place on July 6, 2024, and is joining his father, A. G. "Gus" Hollings, Jr.; his mother, de Lillian Snowden Hollings and his sister, Anna Paisley in eternal peace. Gevert is survived by his wife, Rita; his daughter, Erika (James McIntire); his grandson, Hunter; his niece, Katie Cook, and many cherished cousins. Gevert graduated from Charleston High, attended the College of Charleston and graduated from the University of South Carolina. He worked for the Department of Transportation as an appraiser, prior to becoming the President of Chalmers Realty. Gevert was a third generation Charlestonian and an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, where he served on the Vestry. He was a member of the Hiberian Society and the James Island Yacht Club. He also cherished his memberships in the Eureka Hunt Club and Haven Hunt Club. Gevert was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed sailing, fishing, hunting and boating. Services will be private, with a public Celebration of Life at a future time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Church of Good Shepherd, P.O. Box 30909, Charleston, SC 29417; the SPCA Animal Shelter, 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406; or to the Edisto Beach State Park Turtle Patrol Program (make checks payable to: Beautiful Places Alliance, 1205 Pendleton Street, Suite 517, Columbia, SC 29201). I knew Gevert for years growing up in Charleston, and going to Carolina. He loved being an outdoorsman, fishing and boating. Sincere condolences to his family.

Gevert was my best friend and my best man at my wedding,he was always willing to help me and my family and so many others,to many to mention.I know he is in the presence of the Lord rejoicing, and free of pain, only because he told me he accepted the Lord Jesus into his heart.l miss you already my friend.until we meet again.
