Randy Ballard, 72, of Timpson, TX, passed away on February 26, 2026. A lifelong entrepreneur, devoted family man, and faithful servant to his community, Randy lived a life defined by hard work, hard play, and a love for people.

Randy was born in Mansfield, LA, and spent his early childhood in Logansport, LA, before his family settled in Timpson, TX. He graduated from Timpson High School with the Class of 1972, where he was a proud Timpson Bear. During his school years, Randy was actively involved in football (#31), basketball, and track. He participated in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), high school play cast, and served as an FFA officer and class officer. He was voted "Friendliest Boy" by his classmates, an honor that reflected the warmth and connection he carried throughout his life.

Later in life, Randy reconnected with his childhood classmate from Logansport, Juanita Foshee, and the two were married, sharing a life built on friendship, fun, and family.

Randy's work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit were evident from a young age. After high school, he opened Randy's Music and Auto in a small portable building, the same location where American Outdoor Power stands today. Over the years, his career reflected both his business drive and his heart for serving others. He worked at Champion Feed Mill and later at Eakin Motor Company, where his natural ability to connect with people made him a successful salesman.

He went on to purchase and operate the Timpson Drive-In, where many remember the famous "Randy Burger." Randy also served his community as a paramedic at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. Eventually, he returned fully to his entrepreneurial roots in Timpson, purchasing Ace Hardware, establishing American Outdoor Power, and later opening RB's Super Lube. Randy took great pride in building businesses that served his community and provided opportunities for others.

Beyond his work, Randy lived life with enthusiasm and adventure. He enjoyed drag racing, boating and water skiing on the Sabine River, RV travel, riding motorcycles, rebuilding small engines, restoring classic cars, hosting family gatherings, and spending time with his dogs.

Randy was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Timpson. His commitment to public service included serving as a Timpson City Councilman, assisting the Shelby County Sheriff's Department, and being a founding member of the Timpson Volunteer Ambulance Service.

He is survived by his loving wife, Juanita Foshee Ballard; his former wife and mother of his two children, Drewan Smith Nugent; his daughter, Melissa Ballard; his son, Craig Ballard; his sisters, Sarah Hanson and husband Kenneth Hanson, and Jeannie Ford and husband Ozay Ford; and his grandchildren, Bode Ballard and Shelby Ballard, all of Timpson, TX.

Randy was also blessed with a cherished blended family, including bonus daughters Michelle McCarley and her family, Lori Mendoza, and beloved grandson Memphis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack J. Ballard and Agnes E. Ballard.

Randy will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his entrepreneurial vision, his servant's heart, and the way he made everyone feel like a friend. His legacy lives on through the family he loved, the businesses he built, and the community he faithfully served.
