William Todd Obituary
BEECH ISLAND, SC - Funeral Services for Mr. William Adrian Todd, 78, who entered into rest October 20, 2015, will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock from The Historic First Baptist Church of Beech Island. Rev. Greg Williams and Dr. Darrell Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Todd was a native of Augusta, having made Beech Island his home for the past 39 years. He attended The Historic First Baptist Church of Beech Island. Mr. Todd was a graduate of the Academy of Richmond County and was a US Navy Veteran having served on the USS Lexington CV-16. He was the founder and owner/operator of Todd's Convenience Stores, Inc. Mr. Todd began his career at Avery's Meat Packing and worked for Kimberly Clark. While traveling through Beech Island he became friends with the Jones family, owners of the Savannah River Super Market. Mr. Todd left Kimberly Clark to become the meat cutter at the store. Ms. Jones sold the store to Mr. Todd and it became Todd's Shop-N-Go. Mr. Todd was a member of the Beech Island Agricultural Club, the Augusta Yacht Club and was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He encouraged and loved those he knew and served and the community he lived in. Mr. Todd was preceded in death by his son Brian A. Todd.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mary F. Todd; a son and daughter-in-law, Stacey and Karen Todd, Beech Island, SC; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and James See, Martinez, GA; a daughter-in-law, Carol W. Todd, Beaufort, SC; eight grandchildren, William (Shelley) Todd, Kyle Todd, Amanda (Steven) Eubanks, Ashley Todd, Andrew Todd, Nicklaus Porter, Hogan Porter and Sarazen Porter; three great-grandchildren, Kearsten, James and Brianna Todd.
Pallbearers will be William Todd, Kyle Todd, Andrew Todd, Nick Porter, Hogan Porter and Steven Eubanks.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Saturday evening from 6 until 8.
Memorials may be made to The Historic First Baptist Church of Beech Island, 170 Church Road, Beech Island, SC 29842.

Met Mr. Todd way back in 1975 when he sponsored "Savannah River Market" softball team. Truly enjoyed the friendship for the past 40 years. So sorry for the loss of one really fine man. He will be missed...Larry

Stacey, Susan & Family,
You may not remember me but I spent many good times at your parents home when I was much younger.
I have great memories of Mr. Adrian and Ms. Mary.
As young kids we would visit their house and play with Brian and Stacey. Susan was just a little thing.
And you kids would visit Edgehill and play with us during the summer.
Fifty Seven years of marriage is a long time and I know they loved each other.

Mr Todd or Mr Butch as I've always known him, is and always will be a very special part of my life. My first job was working at the store.. He will be greatly missed by everyone.
