William Martin, Sr.
AIKEN - A celebration of life service for Mr. William Blenn Martin, Sr., age 84, will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday November 22, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Montmorenci with Rev. Steve Cheek, Rev. Rick West, and Rev. Jamie Bodiford, and Kevin Orander officiating. Interment will follow at the First Baptist Church of Montmorenci Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Martin, Derek Martin, Michael Vance, Hunter Bodiford, Tanner Shirah, Jacob Groover, Randy Kellar, and Joseph Martin.
Mr. Martin entered into rest on Friday November 17, 2023, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. He was the beloved husband to Mrs. Elizabeth Toole Martin and a son to the late Mr. Everette Martin and the late Mrs. Jessie Mae Sanford Martin.
Mr. Martin was a native of Orangeburg but had made Aiken his home for over 60 years. He was of the Baptist faith and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Montmorenci.
Mr. Martin worked for Westinghouse for 20 years, retiring in 1995. His hobbies included farming livestock, fishing, hunting, and operating heavy equipment. He was loved by his friends and family, and will be deeply missed.
Additional survivors include: two sons Bill (Debbie) Martin, Aiken, and Robbie (Sarah) Martin, Aiken; two daughters Ann (Kevin) Robinson, Aiken, and Christy (Jamie) Bodiford, Mountain City, TN; one brother Kenneth (Ruth) Martin, Aiken; one sister Jeanette Jernigan, Lexington; one brother-in-law Marshall Fulmer, Graniteville; ten grandchildren Trey Martin, Daniel Martin, Derek Martin, Joseph Martin, Ariel Kellar, Hannah Shirah, Hunter Bodiford, Megan Groover, Brianna Bodiford, and Michael Vance; and five great grandchildren. Mr. Martin was preceded in death by one brother Wayman Martin, one sister Thelma Fulmer, and one brother-in-law Bruce Jerningan.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Montmorenci. Visitation with the family will take place from 6-8 pm on Tuesday November 21, 2023, at COLE FUNERAL HOME 1544 UNIVERSITY PKWY (118 BY PASS) AIKEN, SC 29801 803-648-7175.
