Vivian Counts Obituary
NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - Funeral Services for Mrs. Vivian Chiles Counts, 90, who entered into rest October 28, 2014, will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Pastor Patrick R. Darnell officiating. Interment in Pineview Memorial Park.
Vivian was a native of Greenwood, South Carolina, having made North Augusta her home for the past 58 years. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School and Lander College. Vivian married George W. Counts in 1948 in Greenwood, SC and was happily married for 65 years. She and her husband loved to travel and visited Alaska, China, Russia, Italy, England, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, France and Spain. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and the Hill and Dale Garden Club. Vivian was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with a kind and gentle personality. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband George; her parents, Barney and Marion Frances Chiles; a brother, Jim Chiles; a sister, Margaret Barnes.
Survivors include two sons, William (Jerri) Counts, North Augusta, SC and Steve (Ann) Counts, Laguna Niguel, CA; a daughter, Irene (Dave) Rivers, Raleigh, NC; two sisters, Thelma (Tom) Clark, West Columbia, SC and Irene Browning, Madison, AL; five grandchildren, John (Noi) Counts, Newport News, VA, Nathan (Pamela) Counts, Cincinnati, OH, Grady Counts, Laguna Niguel, CA, Patrick Yeh and Rachel Yeh, La Crescenta, CA; three great-grandchildren, Amanda and Stephanie Counts, Newport News, VA and Brennan Counts, Cincinnati, OH.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday afternoon from 4 until 6.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Sterling House Assisted Living in North Augusta for their care of Vivian during the three years of her residency.
