I am very much saddened by the loss of such a special person. Vicki was much loved by many of the members of the Academy for Lifelong Learning, where she taught numerous classes over the years.

Professor Collins taught me many things, but a few of the best pieces she passed on was her love of poetry and the importance of developing the senses to be more keen to hear and to see and to feel the importance of words within a poem, especially one you are writing. She left a beautiful, indelible mark on USCA. I hope her heaven is a library of Appalachian poetry.

My heart is truly broken for her family and friends,co workers and anyone that knew her. She was such a Blessing to me. She touched my life not only by education but for her love of Jesus Christ. I cried when I received the news. After graduating 25/26 years ago and still kept in touch with her. I will truly miss her calls, our talks and prayers. God has taken my angel on earth home with him. He saw she was tiered and weak and that her work on earth was finished. She is finally at rest, out if pain but the most important to me is she will never be forgotten . Love you always Mrs.Collins. God Bless and watch over David,Ericka,Carrie and family.
