James Keel Obituary

Mr. James Arley Keel, Jr., a devoted husband and steadfast friend, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 19, 2026, surrounded by the comfort and love of the home he loved. He shared 57 years of love with his beloved wife, Mrs. Kaye McCuen Keel. He was preceded in death by his dear sister, Emmie Keel Nowell.

Born in Augusta, Georgia, to the late James Arley Keel, Sr. and Melba Jamelle Craig Keel, Arley was a man who valued hard work, loyalty, and simple joys. He dedicated twenty-five years of his life as a salesman with Lance Cracker Company, where he built lasting relationships and took great pride in his work.

Arley found happiness in life's everyday pleasures, watching his favorite TV Westerns, keeping up with NASCAR, every thing automobile, and, above all, cheering on his beloved Clemson Tigers. His love for Clemson football was unmistakable. If you ever asked his favorite color, he would answer without hesitation, orange. "Go Tigers!"

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance on Monday, April 27, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, South Carolina 29829. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Kirk Kinson officiating.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Billy McCuen, Brandon Loper, Joey Marshall, and Jeremy Barrett. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Ronald Barrett, Fred Jones, Craig Brantley, and Tommy Brantley.

Arley will be remembered for his warm spirit, his unwavering dedication to those he loved, and the joy he found in the things that made life meaningful. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
