Thomas Carroll Obituary
AIKEN, SC - Thomas Allen Carroll, 55, beloved husband of Susan Findlay Carroll, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, September 29, 2014, surrounded by the love of family and friends.
A native of Colleton County, SC, Tom was a son of the late Henry Cope and Evelyn Hattie Thomas Carroll. He grew up in Williams, SC and graduated from Ruffin High School and the College of Charleston. He was a long-standing member of Smoaks Baptist Church.
Tom moved to Aiken in 1984 when he went to work at the Savannah River Plant. After a few years he started The Carroll Company, a builder of custom cabinetry, which he owned and operated for 27 years. Tom was an avid photographer. He loved fishing and boating with family and friends, especially on Lake Greenwood. He had a passion for gardening and farming, and took great pride in sharing his crops with loved ones and friends.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Susan, include two sons, Jordan Carroll and Taylor Carroll, all of Aiken and a brother, Henry Carroll (Sheryl), Williams, SC.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday evening, October 07, 2014 at 6 o'clock at Shellhouse- Rivers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
Tom will be laid to rest in the family plot in Smoaks Baptist Church Cemetery Friday afternoon, October 10, 2014 at 4 o'clock.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org) or the National Liver Foundation (www.liverfoundation.org).

HENRY, I AM STILL IN SHOCK THAT TOMMY HAS PASSED. I CAN EMEMBER SO MANY GOOD CONVERSATIONS THAT WE HAD OVER THE YEARS, PROBABLY BOTH OF US COMPLAINING ABOUT PW. I KNOW THAT YOU ARE GOING TO MISS HIM DEARLY, AS WILL ALL OF US THAT KNEW HIM. THINKING OF YOU AND SHERYL AT THIS TIME OF YOUR SORROW. JUST SAW THE OBIT TODAY, SORRY I DIDN"T MAKE IT.

Having not seen Tom in many years, I was saddened and shocked to hear of his passing. I met Tom when he worked at SRP; always looked forward to seeing and talking to him on my weekly trips to pick up reports from his department. Tom had soft and gentle voice; always a big smile. Susan, my heart goes out to you and your sons. I pray that God gives you the strength and comfort you need during this trying time and the many days ahead.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Tom was a very good man. We got to know him when he use to come in Aiken Lumber Co.,Inc. We enjoyed waiting on him and talking with him. We know he will be greatly missed. May God bless the family and give you comfort during this most difficult time of your life.

susan, so sorry for your loss.i think i was his first employee at cabinet crafters.i did get to talk to him and see him weeks before he left us.see him again soon.may God bless.

Susan & Family
I just found out that Tom (Tommy) had passed. I can't tell you of all the wonderful memories we shared as children, It really saddens me that we didn't stay in touch over the years. He will forever remain in my heart as there were many laughs and good times, he was such a delight to be around. You will all be in our thoughts and prayers. Please let us know if you should need anything.
