Dr. Stephen Gossett
Lexington - Dr. Stephen E. Gossett, 66, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023.
Dr. Gossett was born in Aiken, SC, a son of the late Grover Gossett, Jr. and Annie Calvert Gossett. A 1974 graduate of Aiken High School, he attained his B.S. in Biology from the University of South Carolina - Aiken in 1978. Steve was awarded the USCA Science Student of the Year award in 1978. While attending USCA, he was a member of the tennis team. Steve graduated from The Medical University of South Carolina in 1982 with a DMD degree. He then went on to the University of Kentucky attaining his post doctorate dental specialty degree in periodontics in 1984. Post-graduation, he served in the United States Air Force Dental Corp from 1984 - 1987. After proudly serving his country, he operated a private periodontal practice in Greenville, SC for many years. Steve moved to Lexington, SC where he continued to practice dentistry until his retirement.
Dr. Gossett is survived by his son, Rhett Gossett, Greenville, SC; brothers, Mike (Cindy) Gossett, Aiken, SC, Robert G. Gossett, Graniteville, SC; grandson, Fox Gossett; nephews, Maj Jason (Corrie) Gossett, Capt Chase (Julie) Gossett; nieces, Lauren Gossett, Lea Ann Gossett, and Savannah Gossett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Logan Fleming Gossett and brother, Phillip O. (Sandra) Gossett.
A graveside service, and Interment, will be held at 10AM on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Aiken Memorial Gardens with Pastor Phillip Lee officiating.
Pallbearers will be Rhett Gossett, Mike Gossett, Robert Gossett, Jason Gossett, Chase Gossett, and Mark Farmer.
