Ruth Klein Bradham
AIKEN - A celebration of life service for Mrs. Ruth Klein Bradham will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2023, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marion Britton officiating. Mrs. Ruth Klein Bradham, age 89, entered into rest on September 26, 2023 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Philipp and the late Mrs. Martha Klein. Born in Hainstadt am Main, Germany, she met and married Mr. Dwight L. Bradham on 18 April 1957, while he was serving in the U.S. Army. One of her proudest moments was becoming a naturalized citizen of her adopted United States on 24 November 1961, and she would proudly and patriotically tell everyone she was American (though her German accent mixed with her southern twang would always give her origins away). She was known for her outgoing personality, charm, and never meeting a stranger; her strong determination, learning the English language by reading western comic books and an encyclopedia; and the caring way she treated people. She was a member at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Aiken. Mrs. Bradham enjoyed cooking, fishing and gardening. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, three sons, Dwight Jr. (Heather), of Aiken, SC; Phillip of Apex, NC; and Daniel (Cory) of Cleveland, TN; a brother, Gerhard Klein (Geisele), of Sindelfingen, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany; six grandchildren, Nathan, Emily, Sam, Markus, Aspen and Isabella. The family will receive visitors after the service at Cole Funeral Home.
