Robert "Bob" William Lemke passed away peacefully of a long illness August 16, 2013 at Portneuf Hospital in Pocatello, Idaho with family by his side.
Bob was born to Robert Wilhelm Lemke and Hazel Ruth Helms on June 18, 1943 in Burley, Idaho. Bob was welcomed by sisters Anne Marie and Karen Ruth and joined later by sister and brother Laura Louise and Allen Lloyd. Bob attended school in Oakley, Idaho and graduated from Gooding High School, Gooding, Idaho in 1961. After graduation, Bob joined the Marines. October 27, 1961 Bob married Diana Karren Blamiers in Gooding, Idaho. When Bob was honorably discharged from the Marines he went to work for Mountain Bell Telephone. Bob saw many changes with the telephone company and retired in 1998. Bob was rehired to do construction for U S West therefore working several more years with the phone company.
Bob loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, horses, to name a few. Bob was well liked by most that knew him. Bob was kind, loving and if he felt that if you needed some help, he would be there to help you with all he had.
Bob is survived by his 2 sisters; Anne (Dean) Durfee Quincy, WA, Karen (Ron) Morris Meridian, Idaho and brother Allen (Evelyn) Lemke Boise, Idaho and several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his wife Diana Lemke, father, his mother and sister Laura Louise.
There will be no funeral service but an open house memorial service is planned for August 31, 2013 at Bob's home, 5530 Nez Perce, Pocatello from 1 pm to 3pm. The Lemke family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to; Idaho State Veterans Home, 1957 Alvin Ricken Dr. Pocatello, Idaho.
