I remember Mike as soft-spoken, someone who loved his wife and children more than life itself. I remember him as someone my own husband, Joe Bruce, spoke highly of and loved as a dear friend. No one who knew Mike will ever forget him or his kind ways and willingness to help anyone who needed help.

My heart breaks for the loss of this gentle but great soul. He was the epitome of a perfect husband and loving father. Joe and I thought the world of Mike and his beautiful, gentle wife, Carol. I feel the greatness of her loss, having experienced the loss of the love of my life seven years ago. I will always love Joe, and I know you will always love Mike. Just know there is Hope. There is Peace. There is Recovery, all through the never-ending, never-failing love of our Jesus. My love and prayers remain with you always.

It is with deepest sadness I return to Aiken to discover you've passed away. With only a short period of time at Aiken Regional, you and your family captured the heart of this nurse. There are just some patients and their families who have a lasting impact, as you and Carol did. May you rest peacefully and allow the love of Jesus to wrap around your sweet wife and family.
