Melanie Byrne-Hamer Obituary

Aiken, SC – Melanie Leigh Byrne-Hamer, 51, entered into rest February 27, 2026. Memorial Services will be conducted Saturday morning, March 7th 2026, at 11 o'clock at the St. Paul Methodist Church, New Ellenton, SC, with Rev. Brian Gilmer officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.

Melanie was a lifelong native of Aiken, South Carolina and was a member of St. Paul Methodist Church for many years. She was a caring mother, beautiful daughter, and friend to many. Melanie cherished her friends and loved them all like family. Her smile was infectious and she showed so much compassion for others. Melanie had that rare gift of sharing her gusto and humor with everyone. Her friendship was truly a blessing and her love for her family was unconditional. Her life was short, just a blink of time but she made a huge impact on everyone.

Melanie is preceded in death by her father, Ricky William Byrne. She is survived by her three sons, Denton Hamer, Leighton Hamer, and Brighton Hamer; mother and stepfather, Melinda Brinkley (Jimmy); and brother Eric T. Brinkley (Allison).
