Mary Reeves Obituary

Mary Reeves
AIKEN - Mary Reeves Harris entered into rest April 25, 2023. She was born May 18, 1952 in Charleston, WV and moved with her family in 1954 to Aiken, SC where she resided the rest of her life. Mary graduated from Aiken High School followed by a career path as a Dental Assistant after completing studies at Midlands Technical College in Columbia, SC.
Mary dearly loved her parents, Jimmy and Opal, and her sisters, Patti and Sandy. They all spent a lot of time at Clark's Hill Lake where they loved to ski, fish and ride on the lake. Mary loved working in her yard and working in her Father's woodworking shop - Jimmy's GoDiddy Shop.
Mary met the love of her life, Gary Harris and they married in 1972. They were avid Falcons and Braves fans but especially Falcons fans. They always had a dog or two or three throughout their lives and loved every one of them. Mary and Gary always had a pool and would have their cousins, Elizabeth DeGennaro (Brent) and Melanie Roberts(Ted) spend weekends and summers with them. They always looked upon Elizabeth and Melanie as their daughters as well as Andrew DeGennaro and Jacob DeGennaro as their grandsons. Mary was a member of Town Creek Baptist Church in Aiken, SC. She loved her church family and enjoyed working with the children of the church. She was affectionately known to everyone as MeeMee.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, James A and Opal L Reeves, her husband, Gary and one sister, Sandra Brown. She is survived by one son, Chris Brown of Renton, WA and one sister, Patti Goss and her family of Montmorrenci, SC. Mary is also survived by her cousins, Karen Johns of Niceville, FL and Dale Slack (Barbara) of North Augusta, SC and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
After a very long battle with Alzheimer's, Mary is now at peace in the arms of her Lord and reunited with her husband, parents and sister. Her family expresses a special thank you to the staff at NHC Healthcare of North Augusta, Hammond Place, and Caris Hospice for the care given to Mary these last few years.
Visitation will be Saturday May 6th at 10:00 am with a service to follow at 11:00 am at Town Creek Baptist Church, 250 Town Creek Rd, Aiken, SC. Interment to follow immediately at Aiken Memorial Gardens, Aiken, SC.
Pallbearers will be Brent DeGennaro, Andrew DeGennaro, Jacob DeGennaro, Ted Roberts, Roy Broome and John Morelli.
