AIKEN - Funeral services for Mary Ruth Mills McAfee, age 101 will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Wrightsville First United Methodist Church, with interment to follow at Westview Cemetery. Dr. Tim McClendon will officiate.
Mrs. McAfee was born June 16, 1917 in Tennille, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Clifford Asalph and Mattie Braswell Mills. She was also preceded in death by J. K. McAfee, Jr., a son, Clifford McAfee, 2 daughters, Shirley Norman, and Nancy Alene McAfee, 2 great-grandchildren, Joanna McAfee, and Paul McAfee, a son-in-law, Jackie Meeks, and a brother, and 3 sisters. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Wrightsville First United Methodist Church. Mrs. McAfee passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 in Aiken, South Carolina.
Mrs. McAfee is survived by her daughter, Brenda McAfee Meeks of Aiken, SC, a daughter-in-law, Betty McAfee of Wrightsville, 7 grandchildren, Steve McAfee, Lanier Meeks, Dave Norman, Jeff McAfee, Elease Franchini, Denease McCullough, and Andrea Downs, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Lanier Meeks, Dave Norman, Jeff McAfee, Steve McAfee, Eric McCullough, and John Downs.
Honorary Escort will be the Fellowship Class at Wrightsville First United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday, July 23, 2018 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mrs. McAfee to the Wrightsville First United Methodist Church at P.O. Box 30, Wrightsville, GA 31096.
