Mary Cornish Obituary

Mary Jane Cornish, 85, formerly of Arlington Place and the Big Creek Road, Hornell, N.C., passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, at Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City, N.C. Born in Rochester, N.Y., Sept. 14, 1921, the daughter of Fred and Jane (Jordan) Kreutter, she had resided in the Hornell area until moving to Elizabeth City, N.C., in 1999. She had been employed as a sewing machine operator at the Marion Rohr company for 15 years before her retirement in 1975. She was a member of the former Spencer United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her parents as well as two sons, David Cornish in 1965, Darwin Cornish in 1993, and her husband Paul Cornish in 1976. She is survived by four daughters, Linda (Randy) Bowen of Texas, Sheila VanKeuren of North Carolina, Diane (John) Walsh of Hornell, Christina (Mike) Murphy of Elmira, N.Y.; one son, Daniel Cornish of Corning, N.Y.; one sister, Luella Williamson of Kansas; one brother, James Kreutter of Minnesota; 16 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at the Robertson Funeral Home, at their new location, 354 Canisteo Street, Hornell. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Deacon Robert McCormick will officiate. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Hornell.
