Joanne Varca Obituary

Joanne Lawler Varca, 83, of Northford passed away peacefully May 6, 2025 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Joanne was born in New Haven on January 16,1942 to Anne and James Lawler, and was the oldest of six girls. A Celebration of Joanne's life and legacy will continue to thrive through traditions of great food and family values of love and support. Joanne was predeceased by her beloved husband and love of her life, Salvio D. Varca, as well as her sisters Diane Bimonte, Lorraine Andres, and Jackie Lawler. She is survived by her children, Gabriel and Elizabeth Varca; her cherished grandchildren, Angela Varca (Dennis) and Saverio Varca (Alexis); along with her first great-grandchild, Gabriel Asher. Joanne is also survived by her two sisters, Linda Andreini and Rose Dillon (Jack), and lifelong friend, Marcia Cieslukowski.A Parlor Service will be held in the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte 80) East Haven Friday morning at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call FRIDAY MORNING from 9:00 until time of Service.
