Jennifer Fulmer Jeancake
AIKEN, SC - Jennifer Fulmer Jeancake, 76, of Aiken, South Carolina entered into eternal rest Monday, December 5, 2022. Her Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, December 9, 2022 at Midland Valley Community Church at 3526 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Graniteville, SC at 11 am followed by a committal graveside service at Tabernacle Baptist Church 113 Tabernacle Road in Springfield SC at 1 pm. The family will receive friends at a visitation at Shellhouse Rivers Funeral Home 715 E Pine Log Rd, Aiken, SC from 6-8 pm on Thursday evening.
Jennifer was born November 21, 1946 in Kitchings Mill, South Carolina, daughter of the late James Holman Brodie and Meta Purvis Brodie. Jennifer taught English in various schools throughout Aiken Country before retiring after 20 plus years of service. Her teaching career began at Schofield High School before integration in 1969. After retirement, Jennifer began serving as a teacher within the South Carolina prison system helping inmates across South Carolina get their GED. She was awarded the honor of being Palmetto Unified Teacher of the year in 2012. This honor paled in comparison to the joy she received in seeing so many inmates not only get their GED but give their life to Christ in the process.
Jennifer was a devoted Christian, mother, and teacher. She gave her life in service to God and others. She was active at Midland Valley Community Church as a part of The Bible Babes and MV Sunday Morning Bible Study. She loved cats, studying God's Word, teaching inmates, and was always a champion for the underdog.
She is survived by her son, Paxson Holman Jeancake (Allison) of Melbourne, FL; her daughter Rev. Elizabeth Fulmer Sullivan (Robert) of Mount Pleasant, SC; Five beautiful granddaughters: Anna Grace Legband (Brandon), Sarah Beth Sullivan, Laura Camille Jeancake, Mallory Jeancake, and Kennedy Sullivan; and her sister Gaylon Kitchings (Larry) of Kitchings Mill, SC.
