Resident of Walnut Creek
Irene Gage gently passed away on Thursday September 5, 2013 after suffering the complications of a stroke. She is now resting with her Savior. She left behind her 2 remaining loving sons Richard Gage and Rob Gage of the SF Bay Area, loving daughter-in-law Patti, her precious grandsons, Damon Gage of El Cerrito, CA, Ryan Gage of Bozeman, MT and Jordan Gage of Portland, Or and her treasured great granddaughter Anja Gage of El Cerrito. Irene cherished her many nieces and nephews, Ondine, Shelly, Tyche, and Kendra from the SF Bay Area and many from the east and southwest. She is also survived by her brother Jerry Carl of Nantucket and sister Gloria De Francesca of Phoenix.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband William R. Gage, son Stewart C. Gage, and her dear mother Velma Carl and sister Dolores Barbera.
In her day, Irene was the garden queen of Castle Hill Rd. She loved her international travels and catching up on all her grandchildren's activities. Irene was a model of generous giving.
The family would like to invite all who loved her to attend a memorial service at the family home at 1800 Castle Hill Rd., Walnut Creek, CA on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 1:00PM.
The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the East Bay Hospice and in particular, the staff at Bruns House in Alamo who together with the grace of our Lord, made her transition a peaceful one. Express condolences at www.oakparkhillschapel.com

I remember Irene from many years ago through my friendship with Rich Gage. I recall her as a very interesting person who was kind and generous.If Rich were to read this, I would love to reconnect. My phone number is 707 328-1755. I have no doubts that Irene led a full and loving life.
