George Counts Obituary
AIKEN - Rev. George Counts entered into rest December 22, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Second Baptist Church with the Rev., Dr. Albert M. James officiating. Interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. Rev. Counts, a native of Aiken County, was a member of Bell Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He served as pastor of Piney Grove Baptist Church (Perry, SC), Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church (North Augusta, SC), New Grove Baptist Church (Laurens, SC), Simmon Ridge Missionary Baptist Church (Edgefield, SC), and retired while serving as pastor of Mims Grove Baptist Church (North Augusta, SC.) Survivors include his wife, Cora Counts; two sons, George E. "Ricky" (Deborah) Counts, Esq. and Aaron A. Counts; three sisters, Sadie Morgan, Salley Wright and Alice Carter; one brother, SSGT Wilbert (Cassandra) Counts; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing will be held from 2-5:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary, 390 Beaufort St NE, Aiken, SC
