Frances Warneke Shull
AIKEN - Mrs. Margaret Frances Warneke Shull passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023, at the age of 98.
Funeral services will be held at South Aiken Presbyterian Church Monday afternoon, February 13th at 3 o'clock. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery, Aiken SC. Pallbearers will be Brandon Stevens, Clayton Stevens, Daytyn Meade, Steve Warneke, Dave Parke, Ruben Cortez. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website on her obituary page at (https://iframe.dacast.com/b/156599/c/585055).
Born on December 8,1924 in Aiken, SC, she was the daughter of the late Herman James Warneke, Sr., and Harriet Woodward "Hattie" Warneke.
She graduated from Aiken High School in 1942 and then attended Queens College in Charlotte, NC, studying to be an Interior Decorator.
Frances married James LeRoy "Roy" Shull on August 6, 1947. They then moved to Miami Springs, Florida where they raised their three daughters - Linda Shull Abee (Rodney) of Columbia, SC; Patricia Susan Parke (Dave) of Middleburg, FL and Barbara Ann Rebelo (John) of Aiken, SC. She will be remembered by her daughters as a kind, loving wife, Mother and grandmother, who always made every day and especially the Holidays special. She loved gardening, birdwatching, cooking, sewing and doing crafts for family and friends. She had a love for music and learned to play the piano and organ.
After Retirement in 1982, she and Roy moved to Aiken. She was a member of South Aiken Presbyterian Church, Daughters of Scotia, Ladies Auxiliary VFW, Eastern Star, and a Girl Scout Leader.
She is survived by her daughters, 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandson. She is also survived by her nephew Steve (Sheila) Warneke and a niece Kay Warneke Gibbons. In addition to her parents, Frances is predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years, Mother-in-law Florence Lila Shull, her brother Herman James Warneke, Jr. (sister-in-law Dot), sister Marjorie Warneke Rogers (brother-in-law Bill), a grandson Sean David Parke, a Stepson Joe, Stepdaughter Betty Ann, Stepbrother bill Luther of Opelika, AL.
Her kindhearted spirit and love towards family and friends will be remembered and truly missed. May she now be reunited with family and friends in Heaven. Until We Meet Again...
The family would like to express a Special Thank You for the many friends and family that have stayed in touch and sent continuous thoughts and prayers. To our South Aiken Presbyterian Church family for the many visits, prayers, cards. To Regency Hospice, especially to Pam Randolph our Nurse, and our CNA's Pam Speak and Melisha Frazier for their care and support. To Reba Mason for her longtime care, love and friendship. And to Joanne, who truly has a gift for the care and concern she gave to our family, we are truly blessed to have her and all our caregivers in our life.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to South Aiken Presbyterian Church, 1711 Whiskey Road, Aiken, SC 29803.
