EVELYN HODGE Obituary

HODGE, EVELYN PAULINE - Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, welcomed Evelyn into His loving arms February 24, 2014. Evelyn loved to listen to and sing gospel music. She exhibited a regal aura in any social situation. Evelyn was a lady. She was raised in Knoxville by the late A.C. and Beulah Glover. She lived in the city and married a farmer and moved to the country where she spent the rest of her life. She was a member of Dumplin Baptist Church and a former member of Gillespie Ave. Baptist Church, Knoxville, TN. She worked at Oak Ridge during the war, S.H. Kress, thirteen years at Standard Knitting Mill, five years at Colonial, Sevier Industry. She was a former member of DAV Chapter 24 Auxiliary in Knoxville, TN. She sang in the choir, solos, duets, and quartets. She also sang at a lot of funerals. At one time a Sunday School teacher and Training Union director. She also helped in Bible School. Our precious family members waiting to greet Evelyn are her husband of sixty-eight years, Ralph Kenneth Hodge, Sr.; sons, Steve Benson Hodge and Ralph Hodge, Jr.; daughter, Ginger Hodge Lafollette Moore; her sisters, Violet Wardell and Ada Helton; and brother, Clifford Rosenbaum. Her extended family sisters waiting to greet Evelyn are Ruth West and Winifred Brandon. Left to mourn our family matriarch are her children, Beverly Parsons Mullins and husband Bill of Barbourville, KY, Pamela Cheri Stoffle and husband Ted of Kodak, TN, Patricia Jones and husband John Paul of Hendersonville, TN, Richard Hodge and Terry Hodge of Kodak, TN; son-in-law, Michael Moore of Kodak, TN; grandchildren, Angie Hodge Holloway, Amy Hodge-Brogan, Kimberly Lafollette Ford, Jason Hodge, Killon Hodge, Stacy Stoffle, Ted Stoffle, Jr., Elizabeth Bucary, Walter Golden, and Terry Hodge, Jr.; great grandchildren, James Bohanan, Faith Ford, Katie Hodge, Jace Hodge, Korenna Hodge, Travis Stoffle, Bryan Parton, Ethan and Emory Stoffle, Alexander Bucary, 'Miss Evelyn" Bucary, and Richard William Brogan; sister-in-law, Golda Jones; and her special companion, "BoBo". Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Interment 11:00 a.m. Friday in Eastview Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. www.atchleyfuneralhome.com
