Aiken - Mrs. Emily Murrell Carithers, age 77, of Aiken, SC, passed away peacefully at Westminister Memory Care on February 7, 2021.
Born March 4, 1943 in Johnston, SC, Emily was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Howard Murrell, and brothers Buddy and Jimmy Murrell. Because of her love of fashion and unusually beautiful items, she opened Emily's Unique Boutique in Aiken. She was a member of Mercy Church, Aiken. Emily loved her family dearly, her church and her church family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Floyd Carithers; children, Michelle Edmunds, Troy Harley, and Mike (Samantha) Harley; grandchildren, Chelsey (Jason) Lemons, Doug (Melissa) Carr, Melinda (Justin) Roy, Cameron Harley, Coleman (Logan) Harley, Emily Harley; great - grandchildren, Ali Roy, Skyler Harley and DC Carr; sister, Barbara Spratte; step children, Gwen (Earl) Sollenberger, Carolyn (Jon) Cook; step grandchildren, Michael (Jenny) Sollenberger, Regina (Ray) Workman, Rochelle (Aamer) Sollenberger, Heath (Hope) Mullins, Gregory (Hope) Mullins, Heather Mullins, 8 step great - grandchildren and 1 step great-great grandson.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday February 10, 2021 at 5pm at Mercy Church in Aiken with Pastor Kenneth Murphy and Pastor Tod Wilson officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Due to the extraordinary circumstances surrounding the current pandemic, social distancing guidelines and masks will be encouraged for the visitation and funeral service.
