Dorothy Brightharp Obituary

Dorothy Mae Brightharp
AIKEN - Ms. Dorothy Mae Merriweather Brightharp, sister of Rosa Merriweather Johnson of Aiken, SC and daughter of the late Alex and Lugenia Key Merriweather, was born on November 11, 1948 in Edgefield County, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her brother Alex Merriweather, Jr. On Thursday, September 1, 2022, God called her to be at rest.
At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior.
She received her education in the Edgefield County Public School System. She was a 1966 graduate of W. E. Parker High School. She attended the University of South Carolina-Aiken and obtained a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Business Administration. She retired from BellSouth and AT&T. She was a member and Officer of Mu Lambda and Kappa Upsilon Omega Chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
She enjoyed shopping, eating out, family time, vacationing where there is lots of water, loving her church, and most of all, loving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Ms. Dorothy leaves her cherished memories to her two sons, Timothy (Lorraine) Brightharp, and Lenward S. Brightharp; granddaughter, Toria (Kevin) Hughes; great-granddaughter, Kemryn J. Hughes; two sisters, Rosa L. (Wayman) Johnson, and Juliana M. Hall; sister-in-law, Earline Merriweather; devoted niece, Lynn R. Merriweather; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
