David Wolfe Obituary

David Wolfe
EVANS, Ga. - On Friday, August 3, 2018 David Wolfe won his battle over ALS and is now home with Almighty God. He passed away peacefully at home and was comforted by his wife of 27 years, Cindy; his two daughters, Amanda and Amelia; and his parents, Gary and Lavetta.
David was born in Bowling Green, KY and grew up in Nashville, TN. After graduating from Tennessee Technological University with an Electrical Engineering degree, David began a 30-year career at the Savannah River Site where he built many long-lasting friendships held dear even after retirement.
David was fascinated by how things work and ever-changing technologies. He was a licensed ham radio operator. He played the piano. He and his family loved to camp, hike, and hunt for waterfalls. David enjoyed geocaching. He loved sports with college football being his favorite. GO SEC!
David was passionate about his relationship with God through Jesus Christ and teaching others how to have and live out that relationship. David taught in various capacities at Warren Baptist Church leading from a transparent, imperfect voice and wanting others to find the truth in God's Word. David also served as a deacon.
In addition to his wife, daughters, and parents, survivors include his brother, Kevin (Valerie) of Enid, OK, and a large loving extended family.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Platt's Belair Road Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on August 7, 2018 at Warren Baptist Church with Dr. David McKinley, Rev. Brett Legg, and Rev. Lane Lowery officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Richard Blume, Tad Dickinson, Ross Beavers, Phil French, David McClure, and Joel Ray.
Honorary pallbearers will be the deacon body of Warren Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank Augusta University Health ALS Clinic and SouthEast Hospice for their loving care during David's illness.
If so desired, memorials may be made to Warren Baptist Church Spiritual Formations Ministry, 3203 Washington Rd. Augusta, GA 30907 or the ALS Foundation at alsa.org.

We are deeply moved at the news of David's passing. But we are comforted by knowing that David is now with our Lord Jesus Christ and God the Father in paradise! David's amazing faith was an inspiration to many, including us. Truly, he was received in Heaven with great celebration and honor - Welcome Home David, good and faithful servant.

Anyone who knew David could never doubt his faith. We met when we were in our early 20's in the Single's class at Warren Baptist and his faith was strong then. It only grew as he got older. He is definitely safe and whole in the arms of the Lord!
Praying for Cindy and the girls.

God has provided a special place for David, His good and faithful servant. I pray that God's presence will be felt by you and your family as you grieve. I worked with David for several years at SRS. I never saw him without a smile on his face. A true inspiration.

Wayne and I will miss him so much! I will always remember him playing for our ladies group. He was always filled with fun and a great sense of humor. David could play our music with true expression but remain the accompaniment for our voices with an angelic touch on the piano that somehow made our vocal performance seem like we were singing for Jesus. We love your family and are sad with you.

To Cindy and David, you have and always will be a pillar of strength to me. To Amanda and Amelia, you have a wonderful father, both, when here on earth and now in heaven. My heart is heavy and I wish the three of you the comfort, support and love you all need today and in the days to come.
