Darren Taplin Obituary
BEECH ISLAND, SC - Darren Taplin, 64, passed away Friday, October 3, 2014 at his farm.
A native of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Darren was the son of the late Roy and Monica Coughlin Taplin.
Darren was a United States Honorary Young Horse Handler and a United States Dressage Federation Silver Medalist.
His achievements and accomplishments in the sporthorse world and in dressage are innumerable.
He will leave his vast experience as a professional horseman with his present and past clients. Darren also will leave a lasting impression in the AKC show ring with his dachshunds.
Darren is survived by his sister Vicki, brother Dale and his partner of 20 years, Nick Bertelli.
A celebration of Darren's life will be held Sunday, October 26th at 2 PM at Xanadu Dressage, 300 Capriole Drive, Aiken, SC.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Dachshund Rescue of North America (www.drna.org) or the Dream Dachshund Rescue (www.dreamrescue.org).
Historic George Funeral Home, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC 29801 in charge of arrangements.

9 years my wonderful partner and I´m still speechless when it comes to losing you. I have never been the same and never will be. Dearest Darren-
Words could never do justice to how special you will always be to my life. We knew each other for 34 years training six horses together. You are my mentor, my trainer and my loving friend. I would not be in the saddle if it weren't for your steadfast support. Rest well my friend. We will meet again.

Darren, I miss you with all me heart. You were the best friend someone could have. You always encouraged me to keep moving forward when life did not seem just quite fair. You always made me laugh when I was down, by knowing just what to say. I miss the times we just talked. I will never forget the night we all went to dinner and laughed until we cried. I love you my dear friend. Until we meet again, ride your horses like the wind. I know you will always be watching over.
