Dale Stephens Obituary
AIKEN - Mr. Dale Stephens passed away October 19, 2025 at Wellstar MCG Hospital in Augusta , GA with family by his side. He was 70 years old.
He was born in Augusta, GA to the late Mr. Claude G. "Steve" Stephens and Mrs. Muriel E. Lockwood Stephens. Except for the time spent in college and military service, Dale lived his life in Aiken. Dale graduated from the Citadel first in his class in Armory as a Second Lieutenant and then on to serve in the army in Germany. He was employed at Savannah River Site for 43 years, spending the majority of that time as a Safety Engineer.
Beyond his professional life, Dale was an avid reader of books. He found joy in spending time with his stepson Anthony and taking him fishing. Dale was a member of South Aiken Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon and an Elder. He taught Sunday School class, served as sound operator, and was active in ACTS.
Dale is survived by his wife Margaret and his stepson Anthony Pajerski of Redfield, SD and his brother Roger (Pam) Stephens of Aiken, SC.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 1:00 -2:00 pm at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home 715 E. Pine Log Road in Aiken, SC with a memorial service following at 2:00 pm.

Sending condolences and prayers to the Family of Dale Stephens one of our `73 Aiken High School classmates
who was always friendly and had a smile. After high school his career at the Savannah River Site often led him to perform walk down inspections within our Central Services Works Engineering Facilities as the Safety Engineer. Dale maintained his calm professional demeanor whenever and wherever you saw him. Heaven gained a gentle honorable man that will be missed from earth and from our `73 class reunions.

I remember him as if it was yesterday but from actual years ago. Whenever there was a job on site and he showed up as the Safety Engineer I felt comfortable that we were safe. My deepest condolences!
