Curtis Davis
AIKEN - Mr. Curtis E. "Curt" Davis, 98, entered into eternal rest at home on Monday, July 12, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Helen Pyles Davis, his parents Earnest Floyd and Lillian Katherine Davis, one sister, Phyllis Davis Bonifacio, and a brother, Kenneth Davis. Mr. Davis was born in Mount Hope, WV. He is survived by three sons, Craig "Marley" (Mary) Davis, Aiken, Mark Stewart (Cheryl) Davis, Scott M. Candice Davis, Aiken; three grandchildren, Amy Davis (Jeff) Moffatt, Amanda Grace Davis (Kevin Netcher), Megan Davis; two great-grandchildren, Ava Carson Moffatt and Davis MacDowell Moffatt.
After graduating high school in 1940 Mr. Davis went to work for DuPont in Charleston, WV. In 1943 he joined the Army Air Force where he served in the European theater of operation during World War II. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his meritorious achievement in Arnhem, Holland during the Battle of the Bulge, and later served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Curt, as he was known by his friends moved to Aiken County in June of 1952 as one of the early employees of DuPont where he worked as a Supervisor in the Works Engineering Department until he retired from the Savannah River Plant after 43 years of service.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Shellhouse Funeral Home on Hayne Ave. with the Rev. Holly Shoaf-O'Kula officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private inurnment will follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Columbarium of First Presbyterian Church, 224 Barnwell Ave., NW Aiken, SC 29801 or the Savannah River Cancer Foundation, PO Box 3694, Aiken, SC 29802.

I am so saddened to hear that Mr. Davis has passed. He was a wonderful, sweet man with a great artistic talent. I know he is walking hand-in-hand with Mrs. Davis now and having th time of his life. My deepest condolences to his entire family. It was truly an honor to know him.
