Charles Edward Barton
WARRENVILLE- Mr. Charles Edward Barton, 70, of Warrenville, SC, beloved husband of nearly forty-six years to Mrs. Annis Cato Barton, entered into rest in the comfort of his home on Wednesday, January 17th, 2018.
Born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC, he was a son of the late Harry Lee and Helen Gregory Barton. He retired from Avondale Mills. A United States Army Veteran, he proudly and with honor served his country as an MP in Germany. He was of the Baptist faith. Charles enjoyed fishing, camping, mountain trips, spending time with fellow Legionnaires at Post #153 and coin collecting. More than anything however, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his children, Keith and his wife, Dana Barton and Patrick Barton and his fiance, Nicole Golden, siblings, Frances and her husband Richard Kieltsch, Roy and his wife, Ann Barton, Harry "Pater" and his wife, Cindy Barton, Wayne and his wife, Angie Barton, Mark Barton and the late Shirley Barton Hanson, grandchildren, Kristen and her husband, Brandon Kirkland, Jeremy Barton and his fiance, Alexis Killinger, Tyler Barton, Peyton Barton and Kaide Howell and great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Kirkland and Kaydence Kirkland.
The family will greet friends on Saturday, January 20th, 2018, beginning at 2 o'clock at Christian Heritage Church, Graniteville, SC, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 4 o'clock, with veteran's honors accorded by a United States Army Honor Guard. Pastor Stephen Phillips will officiate. Nephews will serve as pallbearers and members of the American Legion Post #153 will serve as honorary pallbearers.
A special thanks goes out to all of the family, friends and Hospice Care of South Carolina, for the care given to Mr. Barton and the rest of the family.
The family has asked that memorials be made to the American Legion Post #153 P.O. Box 312 Langley, SC 29834.
