Charles Asbelle
GRANITEVILLE - Lieutenant Colonel Retired Charles Thomas Asbelle, age 95, beloved husband to the late Jacqueline Posey Asbelle, entered into rest on Thursday February 8, 2024. He is survived by his children, Christi Asbelle, Charles T. "Chip" Asbelle, II., James Michael Asbelle; grandchildren, Alaina Minton, Tessa Zelek, Charles T. "Thomas" Asbelle, III.; and one great grandson, Charles Minton.
In addition to his wife he is preceded in death by his parents, John and Eunice Asbelle; son, Richard Anthony Asbelle; and brothers, Zola, John, Crawford, and Ronald Asbelle.
Mr. Asbelle was a lifetime donor and season ticket holder of Clemson University where he graduated from. He proudly served his country in the United States Army at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After retiring from the military he taught Architectural Drafting at the Aiken County Career Center. Mr. Asbelle was also a member of St. John United Methodist Church in Graniteville and was a part of the "Methodist Men".
In addition to being a beloved husband he was a devoted father, loving grandfather and dedicated friend. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
A graveside service with full military honors accorded will be held on Saturday February 17, 2024 at 2pm at the Historic Graniteville Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the cemetery.

So sorry to hear about Charles. We have so many wonderful memories of tailgating at Clemson with Charles and all of you. Clair will never forget working with Charles at Aiken County Tax Assessor's Office. There was never a dull moment with the two of them. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with each of you. Your Dad was a great man and we are so blessed to have known him. Clair & Barbara Henkes
