Calvin Garnto Obituary
Mr. Calvin Lee Garnto, 80, of Trenton, SC, a beloved and devoted husband of Linda Joyce Clark Garnto for thirty-eight years, passed away in the comfort of his home under the kind, compassionate, and loving care of Amedisys Hospice on Saturday, August 30, 2025. Devoted and caring nurses Shayla, Dawn, Kayla and Deshondra.
A lifelong area resident, he was the son of the late Roy Garnto and the late Julia Greene Fittery. He proudly attended LBC High School, where he played football. A former Delivery Driver, he retired from CES with 17 years of service in Marietta, GA. Also preceding Calvin in death was a brother, Michael Garnto. Brothers -n-law Mark and Starling Clark, Nephews Dewayne Clark and Matthew Craig.
Calvin was a member of Highland Pines Baptist Church. He could often be found engaging in one of his favorite pastimes: reading the Bible. Calvin was not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ and would witness to anyone when given the opportunity. He was a man of integrity who was a devoted husband and believed in the value of hard work. He was a man of integrity as well a man of influence and such a gentle man. Calvin enjoyed watching his beloved Gamecocks, reminiscing about his days of playing football with the LBC Lions and trips with Linda to the mountains. Let us also remember that Calvin was known for having a sweet tooth as big as South Carolina. He will be deeply missed by everyone who's life was impacted by his fellowship.
Along with his wife, Calvin is survived by siblings, Ralph Fittery, William Fittery(Amy), Renee Froman, Vickie Bonnett, Richard Fittery(Debra), and Paula Anderson (Daniel), very special cousins, who were more like siblings, Wesley Greene and Ariel Gornto, a special niece, who was more like a daughter, Candy Craig, sister n law Audrey Craig(Michael) and of course his faithful Fur baby companion, Lucy. His nephews and nieces Joey Clark (Jennifer), Michael Craig Jr. (Jenny), Daniel Clark, Candy Craig, Lynn Hammell (Chris), Marsha Clark, Brandi Shealey (Paul), Michael Bonnett and many more......
Special cousins Ariel Gornto, Wesley Greene (Debbie), Doug Greene (Geneva), Cathy Swanson (Gary), Linda King (Kenneth), Gleacia Scott (Chris), Rentha McClaueley (Lem), Shannon McDowell (Jeff), Rose Morgan. Very special lifelong friends Preston Ponce (Mary).
In honoring his wishes, Calvin will be cremated. Friends will be greeted by the family on Saturday, September 13, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m. visitation and service at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Pines Baptist Church,1530 Hampton Ave. Aiken, SC. 29801. Pastor, Wesley Greene, will officiate.
