Annie Mae Durden Richardson Obituary

Mrs. Annie Mae Durden Richardson, 84, of Gloverville, SC, wife of the late Edward C. Richardson, entered into rest on Saturday, May 10, 2025, while in the comfort of her home.
A lifelong area resident, she was the daughter of the late Clone and Marie Sizemore Durden. Day's Television formerly employed her. Miss Annie was a longtime member of Gloverville First Baptist Church.
Miss Annie was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished her family wholeheartedly and made every effort to be present for every reunion, gathering, or celebration. She knew every family member by name and had a special memory to share about each one. Her deep love extended beyond family. Her friends were as close as kin, and she embraced them with the same warmth and care.
Miss Annie was known for her competitive spirit and quick wit. She especially loved playing cards, whether it was Spades, Rummy, or any other game. She brought energy, strategy, and an unbeatable winning streak to the table. It became a cherished part of family tradition, even as her children and grandchildren playfully attempted to dethrone her, usually without success. Miss Annie also enjoyed making birthday cards, playing the piano and accordion, and working in her yard.
But above all, Miss Annie was a woman of unwavering faith. She lived her life anchored in the word of God and dedicated her heart and soul to Christ.
A true prayer warrior, Miss Annie read her Bible daily, spoke life and scripture into those around her, and continually trusted God's will. Her life testified to His grace, love, and enduring promise. She faced joy and trials with prayer, humility, and steadfast belief in God's plan. She would want to be remembered as a servant of Christ, a soldier for the Heavenly Father who walked boldly in His light.
Miss Annie is loved, will be missed and her memory will always remain in the hearts of her children, Gerald (Iris) Richardson, Cheryl (Wade) Jackson and Ken (Angie) Richardson, a brother, Norman (Susan) Durden, grandchildren (Aaron (Ashley) Morales, Craig (Britany) Richardson, Iris Morales Seawright, Karina (Michael II) Steele, Nalany (DJ Granade) Richardson, Shannon (Clay) Turner, Michael (Amy) Hadden, Ashlyn (Patrick) Jackson-Smith, Alex (Karmen) Elsen, Tyler Kenner, Kelli Richardson, and Aaron (Haley) Johnson), great-grandchildren (Gavin (Abbie) Turner, Brayden Turner, Camdyn Turner, Avery Arico, Abigail Hadden, Bryson Opalewski, Adyson Long, Weston Hadden, Parker and Chandler Elsen, Eli and Zayden Johnson, Levi, Nathan, Ezra Seawright; Eva, Waylon, Lannah, Gabriel Morales; Michael III, Presley Steele), great-great-granddaughter, Adeline Turner, as well as several nieces, nephews, her church family and friends.
Along with her husband and parents, Miss Annie was also preceded in death by siblings John Durden, Jack Durden and Allene Parker.
For your steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in your faithfulness. (Psalm 26:3)
The family will greet friends on Wednesday, May 14, 2024, at 1 o'clock at Gloverville First Baptist Church, Gloverville, SC, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2 o'clock. Pastor Joe Youngblood will officiate.
Considering her love for and her dedication to her church, memorials in memory of Miss Annie may be directed to Gloverville First Baptist Church. (www.glovervillefbc.com
