It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Patrica Ann (Harden) Ford, age 90, on March 31, 2026, at Van Wert Manor in Van Wert, OH.
Pat, as she was knowingly and lovingly called, was born in Van Wert, OH to Robert and Beulah Harden of Van Wert.
As a woman of many means Pat was known for her abundant generosity and her love of family. She always found a way to serve and love everyone in her family even with the demands of a modern family scattered at times from California to Massachusetts. She loved God and was the glue that kept her family bonded by love in so many ordeals of life. From Proverbs 31 "Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.'"
Her career was long and filled with the joy of many friendships that lasted beyond the walls of Van Wert Federal. Her contributions to serving patrons at Van Wert Federal are a key factor in the growth and stability of that fine institution. Many would say that she was WHY they banked there!
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband Clide E. Ford Jr. Her sister Roberta Matthews (Jan) and her brother Thomas Harden (Nan).
She is survived by her sister Peg Candor (Andy) of Ft Wayne, IN, three daughters, Cynthia Ford (Terry Rigby) of Van Wert, Vickie Smith (Clay) of Winchester KY. Deborah (Jim) Pfoser of Escondido CA, three grandchildren Dr. Tony Smith (Sara) of Cincinnati OH, Michelle Pitcher (Josh) of Richmond, KY, Sam Pfoser of Escondido CA, four great grandchildren Emily Smith, Connor Pitcher. Madelyn Pitcher and Abigail Smith, along with many other family and friends that will greatly miss her.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Randy Bevington officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
The family will receive guests prior to the funeral, from 12 to 2 p.m., on Friday at the funeral home.
For those who prefer, memorial contributions may be given in Pat's name to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, alzfdn.org.
