Nancy Moore Obituary

Nancy Goldthwaite Moore, 85, passed away March 22, 2026, in Chapel Hill, NC. Born June 2, 1940, in Montgomery, AL, Nancy was the great niece of renowned American artist, Anne Goldthwaite. Nancy was a dedicated American History teacher at Hixon Middle School in Webster Groves and a graduate of the University of Arkansas and Webster University. A woman of deep Episcopal faith, she was a passionate advocate for social justice, an avid gardener, and a lover of college basketball.

Preceded in death by husband Robert E. Moore, daughter Kelly Hoover Al-Aboudi, and son-in-law Jack Frank. Survived by brother, Richard Goldthwaite, children Roberta Moore Patterson (Jared), Christina Moore Frank, John Moore (Krisi), Mike Moore (Martha), Adil Al-Aboudi; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Webster Groves, MO, in June. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Emmanuel Episcopal Church Food Bank.

Nancy was a church friend for over 40 years. As the chair of the Missouri Diocese´s Task Force on Nigeria, she guided our church´s relationship for years. She will be missed.

Mrs. Moore was my favorite teacher at Sutton Elementary in the MRH School District. I had her for 4th grade and she instilled my love of reading. She was Miss Goldthwaite at the start of the year. My sincerest condolences to her family.
