I was so sorry to hear about Mark. We worked together for years at Fru-Con. I am also sorry I learned of this too late to attend his Celebration of Life. It was a wonderful obituary posted in tribute to him. My deepest sympathy to his family.

With deepest sorrow, I say goodbye to a dear friend.
I met Mark on this very date 48 years ago, in March 1980, as a co-worker, and I´ve been in his life ever since, sharing countless ups and downs together. We spoke on Zoom only a few days ago, never imagining what was to come.
Goodbye, my true friend, and a friend to so many others.
Mary Ann, Stacey, and Laura - I am so sorry I cannot be there with you. Please take care.

I knew Mark primarily through my older brothers, George and Steve. His kindness to the sometimes annoying little sister hanging around the high school kids was noted and much appreciated. Mark was a good man who will be missed.

Mark was one of the most humble, sincere, and polite person I've ever met. Mark was my mentor. I haven't seen him without a smile on his face. Goodbye to a friend.

Working with Mark is an overstatement. Sharing an engineering project would be closer. He began everything the same way with furrowing his brow, looking over his glasses and defining the problem by asking, "what needs to be done?" Basically, "let's get to it." We also reminisced about our years outdoors, river trips and scouting. The world is a better place having shared it with Mark.

Our friendship with Mark goes back so far, we can't even remember when we met- junior high? Early high school? A steady friend, a truly good man of faith, wise and funny, and there for anyone who needed help. His passing is such a loss for us and for all who loved him. Many prayers for dear Mary Ann and the family.

I met Mark on my first day at my first job at Fru-Con. Little did I know that I was not just meeting a co-worker and mentor but a lifelong friend. I spent many of my formative years sitting on his "foot stool" learning as much as I could from him. He taught me so much, not just in engineering but in life and always did it with his signature smile and sense of humor. Our time traveling and working together over the years never seemed like work because Mark always made it fun. Even after he retired meeting him for lunch or talking to him on the phone always brought a smile to my face. His tales of his adventures with Maryann and what Stacy and Laura and the grand kids were up to you could just feel the pride and love.
I will miss you Mark you were truly one of the great people in my life. Thank you for your teachings, patience, advice, but most importantly your friendship. I would not be where I am today without your guiding hand. Rest in peace my friend and say "Hi" to your dad for me.

Mark and I were good buddies the University of Missouri - Rolla. He was a good friend to everyone he met. Because of my friendship with Mark, and Maryanns friendship with another Barnes Hospital nursing student, I was introduced to my future wife. We owe you so much! May God comfort your family during this difficult time.

Maybe one of his older friendships during his college years, but reminiscent of his obituary description. Great guy! Always smiling and happy. He will be greatly missed even by those who had not shared a table with him for many decades. Rest in peace, good Mark! Thanks for difference you made in my life., though 56 years ago!

Mark was truly a one of a kind person! He will definitely be missed and our thoughts and prayers are with his family. He was always very sweet and helpful to everyone he was around. I loved hearing about his weekend adventures when working with him at Fru-Con and Burns & McDonnell. He was a great coworker that I'll always remember!

I met Mark through the Franke brothers fishing trips to LOZ and this past Summer to Canada. This year in Canada I was fortunate enough to fish a full day together with Mark. It was my first time to fish the beautiful waters of Canada and was a great time visiting and learning from Mark.
What I left that day thinking was this man is tough as a boot with a “zest for life” that I have rarely witnessed. His energy and aura were real.
What really stuck w me was that he shared that he had “just started at 75 years young” self learning the guitar via YouTube last year. He was a committed student who was proud of his callouses and recent guitar upgrade. I asked the type of music he was interested in and he said he’s working hard to learn the Chris Stapleton song “Millionaire”. That beautifully written obituary reminds how fitting the lyrics to this song begin: “They say love is more precious than gold/ Can’t be bought and it can’t be sold/ I got love enough to spare/ That makes me a millionaire”. God bless Mark and his family.

Mark was our back neighbor for eight years, and coworker at Burns & McDonnell. His passion for life and learning were always evident, and he was always quick with advice or help with projects around the yard. Mark had a wealth of knowledge that he shared with his workplace teams, and his personality was always a bright spot with every interaction. We will miss him.

Such heart breaking news. Never heard a single unkind comment from him except in true fun. His words, poking fun, or at work, always made you feel good. Truly a wonderful friend with a bright giving voice and soul. Rest in peace dear friend.

I only met Mark about 20 years ago but we became very close friends. We fished together a number of times at The lake of Ozarks and Canada and enjoyed every minute of it together. In the afternoons after fishing he would help me cook dinner. I will miss him dearly

My wife and I were just thinking of Mark & Mary Ann a few days ago. And then, I was totally shocked to hear of his passing. Such a beautiful obituary that says it all. Once you made friends with Mark you were friends for life. Mark & I spent a lot of time, about 20 yrs of the last 40, on our bike journeys together around Missouri. He challenged me all the time. We so loved our times with him & Mary Ann and will miss those. Mark was one of the strongest people I've ever known: Faithfully strong, Family Strong, Physically Strong. I will miss you!
