Sending my sympathy, and prayers for peace, to the family of Sharon.

As a student at Hartford Union High School during the early 1980s, I knew Miss Schwartz. I was never assigned to any of her classes, but was familiar with her work in the Drama Arts.

Within the past year, we've lost 2 other long-time HUHS educators, Arden Buchholtz (Speech) and Ruth Knoll (Choral Music). Going back several years, Fred Schultheiss (Amer. Lit.) and Carol Hagen (Social Studies) ...all of Hartford, and all who worked closely with Sharon between the English and Arts departments. One other colleague of that era was Joe Dobson (Sports coach and teacher) passing just last month. The memories of, and gratitude for, these gifted, devoted, instructors and mentors run deep.

Even if we are not actual students of specific teachers, they still often leave their mark on our life, and that of countless-others', through experiencing their dedication and involvement in extra curricular activities.

Perhaps the names I mentioned ring a bell with you, of impressionable people Sharon may have spoken about over the years. I will pass along this obituary to other classmates of mine, so they can join with me in remembering a well-liked educator at HUHS, your loved-one, Sharon.

CHEERS to her years in one of the most important careers in the world... TEACHING. May eternal peace be hers.
