Waldo Anderson Obituary

Dad passed away peacefully at his home of almost 60 years, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bellingham, WA to Otto and Annie (Berg) Anderson. Waldo graduated from Ferndale High School in 1933. He joined the Navy in March 1942 and married Imogene (Swift) Anderson on September 21, 1942. Waldo owned the Tip Top Freeze in Birch Bay, and the Dutch Treat, Waldo's, and RondeVoo Drive-in in Lynden. Our dad was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend and will be greatly missed by many. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Imogene, daughter Joan Noteboom, infant son Don, and sister Verna Davis. He leaves daughters Marlene (Joe) Peterson, Judy (Doug) DeMeyer and Terri (Mike) Vossbeck, 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. There will be a graveside service on Friday, Aug. 1 at 11:00 AM at Greenacres Memorial Park, followed by a memorial service and reception at Laurel Community Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or Whatcom Hospice. You may share your thoughts and memories of Waldo at www.farewelltributes.com

Dear girls, and families, what a tribute to have your father for so long. We loved him too,and will be missed.Remember all the card parties?Jean (mom),came up for the weekend to go to the grave side and church, but just as we were about to leave, she had a low blood sugar, was so sick to her stomach we called the aid car.It all ended well, but took all day to get her back to normal.Mom,was so disappointed she was't able to come. She along with us, missed visiting with you all.we love you, and keep you in our prayers. Great Uncle Waldo will be missed by so many. I always enjoyed our talks when he would visit me at the cafeteria at St. Joes Hospital. He could always remember what was happening in my life and always had a great story to share. Love you and miss you!
