Videll Bland Obituary
Videll Parish Bland, 90, of Panama City, Fla., passed this life Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010.
She was born July 10, 1919, in Washington County, Fla., to the late Angus and Northanna Parish. She was united in holy matrimony to the late David "Shine" Bland Sr.
Until her health began to decline, she was a dedicated member of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church in Lynn Haven, Fla. She retired from Bay Convalescent Center as a nurse's assistant after caring for others for many decades.
She was preceded in death by two children, Celestine Pogue and Rosell Bland. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Ella Mincey, Verma (Myron) Hines, Alvin Kenny (Sabrenia) Bland, Roderick Bland, all of Panama City, Althea (Bobby) Clark of Pooler, Ga., and Tony Bland of Jacksonville, Fla. She also is survived by David (Mary Ann) Bland Jr., Pearl (Thomas) Edwards of Ebro, Fla., Eva Muchori of Robosnia, Pa., and James Bland of DeFuniak Springs, Fla. She leaves behind one sister, Alice Prioleau of Jamaica, N.Y. She leaves to carry on her legacy 12 grandchildren, Valerie Mincey, Vanessa Pogue, Kimberly Pogue, Tara Bland, Shamiki Robinson, Tanika Spears, Reginald Bland, Bobby Clark Jr., Tiffany McKethan, Kayla McKethan, Takeya Bland and Trenton Bland. She also leaves two special nieces, Willie Mae Green and Vaddere Stinson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Ms. Bland will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, at Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Ann Riley presiding. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Public visitation will begin from 1 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 20, 2010, at the funeral home. The body will lie in state on Thursday, one hour prior to funeral services at the church.

My love and prayers to the family of Mrs. Videll. I had the opportunity to work with her many years ago at Bay Convalescent and I can honestly say I learned a lot from her, we laughed a lot but when it came to the quality of patient care she was quite serious. I remember a very neat and proud woman. We will meet again one day!
