Skylar Pennington Obituary
AIKEN, SC - Funeral services for Skylar Dakota Pennington, 16, of Aiken, SC will be held four p.m., Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Williston, SC with burial in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery by the airport.
The family will receive friends from six to eight p.m., Monday at Folk Funeral Home, Williston, SC.
Memorials may be made in Skylar's memory to Aiken High School Book Club, 449 Rutland Drive, Aiken, SC 29801.
Skylar passed away Friday, October 2, 2015.
Born in Aiken, SC, she was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. She was a junior at Aiken High School where she was in the Book Club; she enjoyed reading and drawing and she always wanted to be an author.
Survivors include her father, Christopher "Chris" (Sheba Ann Pennington); mother, Rebecca Maxwell Turner; sister, Courtney Hair; brothers, Caleb Pennington, both of the home, Kody Maxwell of Williston; maternal grandparents, Paul and Cathy Copes of Pelion, paternal grandmother, Pamela "Pam" Pennington of Williston; aunts, Michele (Joshua) Pruitt, Rachel Carter; cousin, Hayley Maxwell; Godmother, Karen Lewis.
She was predeceased by her grandfather, Wade Maxwell.
Folk Funeral Home, Inc. and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.

Even though I did not know Skylar, as a counselor that helped students that knew her well, grieve for her loss, I heard such wonderful things about her. Your family will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

I want to extend my deepest sympathy for your family. Skylar was in my second period class and I will never forget her smile and how she lit up the day! I still can't believe it but I know GOD loved her best and he makes no mistakes. I will continue to pray and may GOD give you comfort. Always remember that JOY comes in the morning.

Although I only knew her for such a short time, Skylar touched my heart with her ready smile and her love of literature. Her empty desk is a reminder each day that she is no longer with us; the memory of her smile reminds us of what a great loss this world has suffered with her passing. Words are inadequate. Skylar is missed and will be fondly remembered as long as we live. Chris, I didn't know your daughter. Skylar. but my grandson, Dylan, did from Calhoun in St Mathews. And friends with her on facebook, we are terribly sorry for your loose. As Dylan puts it ' she is smiling down looking at us and a chosen angel. I remember you , Chris< from EMT school in Williston and Mike's class.
