Sarah Lou Hicks
North Augusta - Mrs. Sarah Lou Josey Hicks, 95, of North Augusta, SC, wife of the late David Dennis "Pete" Hicks, entered into rest on Tuesday, December 29, 2020.
A native of Johnson County, GA and a resident of Aiken County, SC, since 1952, she was a daughter of the late Lewis E. and Lorena Smith Josey. She retired from the Bath Mill after forty-one years of service. Since 1953, she was a dedicated member of Bath First Baptist Church where she was a member of Ruth's Sunday School Class, the Joy Group and formerly taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Constellation #76, North Augusta, SC and the American Legion Auxiliary #71, North Augusta, SC.
In addition to her husband and parents, family members include her "Boys" and their spouses, Jerry and Sallie Hicks, North Augusta, SC, Lynn and Carol Hicks, Hilton Head Island, SC, Glynn and Dianne Hicks, Aiken, SC and the late Charles and Mindi Hicks, TX; sister, Rachel Meadows, Augusta, GA; eleven grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be greeted by the family on Saturday, January 2, 2021, beginning at 2 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3 o'clock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Pastor Herb Sons will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Eddie Josey, Randy Josey, Chris Josey, Lewis Josey, Gerald Meadows and Steven McIlvried.
