Robert Ivey Obituary

Robert "Lee" Ivey, Jr.
GRANITEVILLE, SC - Robert "Lee" Ivey, Jr., age 87, of Graniteville, S.C., husband of the late Shirley Sterling Ivey and son of the late Robert Lee Ivey, Sr. and the late Effie Burckhalter Ivey, entered into rest at University Hospital on Thursday, February 18, 2016.
He is survived by daughters, Teresa (Cecil) Scott of Graniteville and Sharon Harley of Warrenville; sons, Steve Ivey and Kevin (Elaine) Ivey both of Graniteville; a sister, Peggy (James) Kitchings of Aiken, S.C.; sister-in-law, Betty Wilkins; brother-in-law, Malcolm (Betty) Sterling both of Beech Island, S.C.; grandchildren, Dana Richardson, Brad (Ashley) Ivey, Brandi (Freddie) Busbee, Jason Whaley, Staci (Tony) Smith, Kayla Scott, Brittany Ivey and
Wesley (Ashleigh Dent) Ivey; Great Grandchildren, Gavin and Emerson Ivey; Jake, Owen and Kate Busbee; Kyndall & Korbin Smith.
He was born in Graniteville, S.C. and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County. He was a member and lifetime Sexton of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Graniteville, S.C. He was a US Navy Veteran. He loved his grandchildren with all his heart and was fondly known by them as Big PaPa and Little PaPa. His family stated that he loved hunting, fishing and just anything to do with the outdoors. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He shall be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched during the 87 years that God granted him on this earth. Death cannot destroy precious memories, and he shall live on the hearts of his loved ones. There is a consolation in knowing that he is in a better place where the soul shall never die, and no more sad goodbyes are ever spoken.
The family will receive friends at Christian Heritage Church in Graniteville on Sunday, February 21, 2016 from 1:30 until 2:45 PM, at which time the procession will leave the church for a service celebrating his life at at the Graniteville Cemetery at 3:00 PM with Rev. Stephen Phillips officiating. The Pallbearers will be Cecil Scott, Tony Smith, Freddie Busbee, Brad Ivey, Wesley and Terry Hudson.
