Peggy Hunt Obituary

Peggy Hunt
LEXINGTON, SC - Peggy Hunt went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, February 25, 2017. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Southland Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Oakwood Baptist Church, 3520 Mineral Springs Rd., Lexington, SC 29073 or Gideons International, PO Box 723, Aiken, SC 29802.
Mrs. Hunt was born December 27, 1936. She was a daughter of the late Weldon D. Sellers and Olive Brock Sellers and step-daughter of Irene Sellers. She loved her church, the Bible and her family. At age seven she was deeply affected by a car wreck that claimed the life of her mother, maternal uncle and infant sister. She loved to trace family lineage in the Chesterfield Genealogical Chapter. She doted on her children and grandchildren and fastidiously kept house. She was a fiercely loyal wife, mother and friend who will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dewey William Hunt of Lexington; sons, Eddie Hunt (Karen) of Aiken, Richard Hunt of Lexington and Tony Hunt (Fran) of West Columbia; niece, Debbie Lemacks of Lexington; grandchildren, Jessica Ray, Andrew Hunt, Melanie Schumpert and Alicia Lawson, as well as four great-grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters. She is preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

One of the sweetest ladies I've ever had the privilege to know. I loved it that later in life she went on a mission trip to China and did volunteer work with the Lexington Baptist Association--what an example! I will never forget her last words to me--"Thank you for sharing your life with me." I say, thank you, Peggy, for sharing YOUR life with all of us!

Aunt Peggy was my best friend, my rock and angel walking on earth. She was like a Mother to me. She and my Mom were best friends, and then us. No more pain and suffering. She's with her loved ones she missed and singing in the Hallelujah choir! Amen! Love to you all, you are all my precious family and I pray for ya'll. We will all have to strive to carry on her Christian legacy. Praise the LORD!
