Patricia Kotti Obituary

North Augusta, SC – Funeral services for Patricia "Pat" Sanford Kneale Kotti, 95, who entered into eternal rest on February 14, 2026, will be conducted Tuesday morning at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Joseph Shippen and the Rev. John Bethell officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Pat was born in Akron, Ohio, on May 23, 1930, to the late William Edwin Kneale, Jr. and Pauline Wise Sanford Kneale. She attended The Ohio State University as a nursing major and was a proud Buckeye throughout her life.

Following college, Pat worked on the staff of Dr. Knight, a general practitioner in Tallmadge, Ohio. After her marriage in 1954, Pat made North Augusta, South Carolina her home, and served as a devoted wife and loving mother. Upon her youngest child entering junior high school, Pat began a career at the Richmond County Public Library in the Catalog Department, where her love of books and learning found a natural home. Music, however, was her great passion. She was a devoted member of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, serving faithfully as Choir Director for more than 25 years. She was also a longtime member and former President of the Augusta Choral Society, which she joined in 1954, and sang with St. Paul's Episcopal Church Choir. Pat was a member of the Jasmine Garden Club of North Augusta and found joy in fellowship, beauty, and community service.

Above all, Pat loved her family deeply. She delighted in time spent with her children, their spouses, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and her steady faith, warm encouragement, and gentle strength shaped generations. Pat was proud of her American heritage as a descendant of three families of the Mayflower.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Kosta "Gus" S. Kotti; her sons, Douglas K. Kotti and James D. Kotti; her brothers, William E. Kneale III and Michael S. Kneale, and her sister, Mary K. Kneale.

Survivors include her sons, Thomas S. Kotti (Nancy), and William P. Kotti (Michelle K.), her daughter, Carol K. Arrington (Paul), her daughters-in-law, Gayle P. Kotti (Douglas), and Michelle D. Kotti (James); eight grandchildren, Laura (Patrick), Burt, Rachel (Andy), Evan (Teena), Ryan (Annelise), Blake (Juan), William, and Mackenzie; seven great-grandchildren, with one great-grandchild expected soon. Her legacy of love continues in each of them.

Pallbearers will be Burt Kotti, Evan Kotti, Ryan Benitez, William Arrington, Andy Meeusen, Patrick Walsh, and Juan Hirsch.

The family expresses their gratitude for the compassionate care provided by the Comfort Keepers team of North Augusta.

Memorials may be made to the Music Program at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, 471 W. Martintown Road, North Augusta, SC 29841.
